The Selenites Band

The Selenites Band return with a Live album ahead of their 3 Studio album, due for release in late 2024. 8 tracks of psychedelic jazz influenced by Ethio-groove, Swinging Addis and pentatonic grooves, recorded in analog on tape recorders during two concerts between 2021 and 2023. These recordings are an opportunity to discover 5 previously unreleased tracks, as well as live versions from the previous album "Behind The Mask". The Selenites Bnad are first and foremost a live band, and we've seen them at the New Morning, in Paris, in Belgium, as well as opening for the prestigious group GONG, on their only date in France, and at many other festivals. The Selenites Band's lively style takes us into a world of traditional music, Shamarnic grooves, spicy jazz and bewitching rhythms. A melodic universe, a music of heady modal trance, a cinematic space of energetic jazz punk! .
All compositions are by Antoine "Obi Riddim" Laloux, except "Hamétègnaw" by Seyoum Gèbrèyès and Bonus track "Aykèdashem Lebé" by Tezera Haile Michael

The Selenites Band reviennent avec un album Live en attendant leur 3 album Studio qui sortira fin d’année 2024. 8 titres de Jazz psychédélique influencé de l’Ethio-groove, du « Swinging Addis » et ses grooves pentatoniques , enregistrés en analogique sur magnétophone à bande durant deux concerts entre 2021 et 2023. Ces enregistrements sont l’occasion de découvrir 5 titres inédits ainsi que les versions live tirées du précédent album « Behind The Mask »
The Selenites Bnad sont avant tout un groupe de live, on a pu les voir au New Morning, à Paris, en Belgique, mais aussi en premiere partie du prestigieux groupe GONG, pour leur seule date en France, et dans bien d’autres festivals.
D’une Manière entrainante , The Selenites Band nous projeté dans un univers ou se mélangent traditions musicales, grooves shamarniques , Jazz aux accents épicés et rythmes envoutants. Un univers mélodique, une musique de transe modale entêtante, un espace cinématographique à l’énergique jazz punk!
