Originally recorded at Leo Kulka’s Golden State Recorders between September 1967 and March 1968, and first released in 1968, Armageddon has long been celebrated as a cult classic—a dark, heavy, and hypnotic journey through swirling organs, fuzz-laden guitars, and haunting minor-key melodies that epitomize the late 60s Bay Area soun.

Emerging from the ashes of their folk-rock incarnation as Stonehenge, The Maze (William Gardner – organ/vocals, Jeff Jensen – guitar/vocals, Kit Boyd – bass, Rick Eittreim – drums) crafted a singular vision of psychedelic rock that stands apart from the era’s more bombastic offerings. Their music is steeped in melancholy, with long, exploratory solos and a brooding atmosphere that has captivated collectors and fans for decades.
