“Don’t miss this little gem, soon to be released. It all started after meeting at the Sound Workshop with Andrei Nikolsky, during his visit to Rome. The day he came to the studio he had also booked a tour of the Vatican Museums, not far from the studio, and he said that seeing the studio was the highlight of his vacation and he was more excited to be in Piero’s temple, than to see the Sistine Chapel. Naturally, an hyperbole like this stays in the heart and makes some meetings more memorable than others. Before leaving, Andrei glanced at a small shelf in the office, where we keep a few copies of semi-obscure original library records, and asked me which one I would recommend. I suggested “Storia and preistoria”. Some time later, he wrote to me saying he had been completely captivated by the album and that he wanted to press a small 45” compilation. Thus this project came to life, featuring on one side “Union Pacific” (from Bon Voyage) and “Archeologia sottomarina” (from Storia e preistoria), and on the other the iconic and ever green “Open space” (from To-day’s sound) and Chaser (from “Il corpo”).
